I developed the Navigator app while working as a full-time contractor at Bosch Research & Tech Center. Working with a designer, product manager, and backend developer, we created this prototype car navigation app, similar to Google Maps.
I implemented the front-end of an extensive list of features. I added to the navigation map search fields for origin and destination, an info dashboard, and a sliding view that displayed a list of directions with turn icons. Added pins to the map for POIs such as gas stations and restaurants, and detailed views that listed gas station prices, and Yelp restaurant reviews. Created a profile view with editable fields, preference item pickers, and functions to update the profile photo. The user could list and edit addresses saved, such as home, work, and other locations. Finally, I created an interactive animated visualization that responded to user voice input.
The company was very happy with my work, and the contract ended. I don't know whatever happened to the app since then.
Navigator is not currently available on the App Store.

As the main front-end engineer for [our] iOS app, Carl performed an amazing job within a tight timeframe, translating product designs into elegant and well-organized code. He adapted well to our dynamic workflow, and thought creatively to find solutions to problems. For example, given the challenge of creating visualizations to respond to live speech input, he actively sought out a new solution and successfully implemented an interactive animation. He has a good eye for detail when it comes to layout, color, and animation, which helps expedite communication with designers and improved the quality of the final UI.– Nikie Xiong, Product Designer, Bosch North America.
